Green Credentials
It is a busy time on the legislation front with the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH) directive coming into force on 1st June
A survey by Consumers International last week made grim reading for those companies trying to prove their green credentials - only 10% of consumers believe industrialists when it comes to climate change, compared to 50% who trust green campaign groups and 60% who trust scientists.

World According to Monsanto
On March 11 a new documentary was aired on French television (ARTE — French-German cultural tv channel) by French journalist and film maker Marie-Monique Robin, The World According to Monsanto - A documentary that Americans won't ever see. The gigantic biotech corporation Monsanto is threatening to destroy the agricultural biodiversity which has served mankind for thousands of years.
Update Jan 2009: the video has been removed from Google Video, for some reason unknown to us. We have however, found it here on Greenpeace's site, now embedded on our page.

False Oraganic Labels
Lawsuit in California about meaning of Organic in personal care products
Dr. Bonner's Magic Soaps filed a lawsuit in the San Francisco Superior court targeting many well known cosmetic manufacturers with deceptively marketing their soaps and lotions as "organic." Companies being sued include Estee Lauder, Kiss My Face, Hain Celestial, Stella McCartney, and Juice Beauty.
These companies are being accused of falsely advertising products by labelling them "organic" when they contain little or no organic material and contain synthetic and petroleum based ingredients.
Currently, there is no law in California...
